Chengdu is the most important transportation hub in southwestern China. It has a huge network of air route, high speed railway, express-way, which covers the whole province, and connects Chengdu with both foreign and domestic cities.
Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport(airport code:CTU)
Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport is one of the four biggest and busiest in China. It is located in the south suburb of Chengdu, around 19km(12miles) away from the city proper. It is operating 110 international air routes and 201 domestic ones by the end of 2018.

Chengdu Metro Network
Chengdu metro network, bus lines and taxis bring a great convenience to both visitors and local people. By the end of 2019, the number of metro lines in operation has reached 7, and there are 7 still under construction. People can take metro to most of sightseeing spots in Chengdu.
Chengdu Bullet Train Network and Expressways
The railway network of Chengdu is operated at four stations, including Chengdu Railway Station, Chengdu East Railway Station, Chengdu South Railway Station and Chengdu West Railway Station. It provides visitors a smooth and comfortable riding to and fro between Chengdu and some leading cities in China, such as Beijing, Xi’an, Chongqing, and Lhasa. People can even go to visit Jiuzhaigou Valley by taking bullet trains by 2011.
Chengdu Railway Station
The bullet trains are shuttling between Chengdu and some major cities in China mainland at Chengdu Railway Station. The terminals include Beijing, Xi’an, Chongqing, and Kunming. The name of the station is printed as “成都Chengdu” in both Chinese and English on the train ticket.
Address: the Third Section, the Second Ring Road North, Jinniu District, 成都火车北站,金牛区一环路北三段.( It takes around half an hour to get to Chengdu Railway Station from the center of city proper by car.)
Chengdu East Railway Station
Chengdu East Railway station is a terminal mainly connecting Chengdu with Chongqing, Wuhan, Xi’an, Guiyang and Leshan Giant Buddha. The train ticket is printed with“成都东Chengdu East” in both Chinese and English.
Address: the Fifth Section, the Third Ring Road, Chenghua District, 成都东站,成华区三环路东五段.(It takes 40 minutes to drive from the city center to Chengdu East Railway Station .)
Chengdu South Railway Station
The train service operates bullet trains running between Chengdu and some cities like Leshan, Emei, Xichang, Yibin and Kunming. The identification of Chengdu South Railway Station is 成都南Chengdu South.

Chengdu West Railway Station
Since December 29th , 2018, visitors could go to visit Ya’an Giant Panda Base by taking a bullet train from Chengdu West Railway Station. “成都西Chengdu West”is marked as its identification on train tickets.

Chengdu Expressway Network
The expressway network connects Chengdu with most tourist attractions in Sichuan and neighboring provinces. Chengdu serves as the hub of expressway network. There are eight expressways radiating from Chengdu and tying the surrounding attractions together.
Taxis
The starting cost is 8 Yuan RMB within 2 kilometers by taking a taxi. Then it charges at 1.9 Yuan RMB for every extra kilometer. Half of the charge is required, if the distance exceeds 10 kilometers.
