Our guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel at 8:00 A.M.. Then you will ride the car to Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding and Research Centre. It takes about two and a half hours to tour in the panda base. In the panda base, you will visit the garden-like panda enclosures which are called panda houses, namely the Adult Panda House, the Panda Cubs’ House, the Panda Delivery House, and the Red Panda House. At 11:00 A.M. you may leave the panda base for the City of Leshan. The city is about 160 km(99.4 miles) away from the panda base. It takes around two hours to get to the city by a car. Leshan is also famous for its tasty local dishes. After lunch, you will take a boat cruise to get a panoramic view of the Buddha Statue. There are two ways to visit Leshan Giant Buddha. It is the best way to take the boat cruise. The other one is to hike the Linyun Hill to get a close look of the statue. When you take the boat cruise, you may find a plenty of domestic tourists waiting in a long queue for stepping downstairs or upstairs on a winding path. At 3:30 P.M., you may ride the car to visit Baoguo Monastery. Baoguo Monastery is located at the foot of Emei Mountain, about 40 kilometers(25 miles) away from the city proper of Leshan. It is well-known as the No.1 Monastery of Mount. Emei. The monastery was built in 1651. The monastery compound is quite huge. It takes about one hour to tour in the monastery. You may get to your hotel in Emei Town at 5:30 P.M.
In the morning, you may leave the hotel at 7:30 A.M. for the tourist bus station with your guide and driver. Visitors need to take sightseeing shuttles to tour in the mountain. The buses shuttle between Baoguo Bus Station and Leidongping Bus Station. It takes about one hour and forty minutes to finish the bus ride. Then you need to walk to the Lower Golden Summit Cable-car Station along a winding path. The path is one and a half kilometers(4,921 feet) in length, taking around half an hour by foot. Usually, visitors might get to the Golden Summit before 11:00 A.M. without wasting time in the long queue for the cable car. On the Golden Summit, you will go to visit the Statue of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, Huazang Monastery and others. You may have lunch in a restaurant nearby. Face-changing and Emei Martial Art Show(one and a half hours)
Face-changing refers to the painted masks Changing. It is a significant cultural heritage of China, is the highlight of Sichuan folk art, as well as a national secret. Only few masters have grasped the skill. Only they know how to change their masks in a magically quick succession. Many of our clients exclaimed that the face-changing was extremely amazing.
Emei Mountain is also famous for its martial art, which is called Emi Kong Fu. It is one of the major schools of Chinese Kong Fu. Qi Gong is the highlight of the martial art. Qi means vitality. The Qi Gong masters can cut apart stone bricks with their hand or forehead.
Tips for Your Trip
1. The golden summit is 3077 meters(10,095 feet) above sea level. It is quite cold on the summit. Please prepare warm clothes before you start your tour.
2. On the way to the lower cable car station from Leidongping Bus Station, you may meet
the aggressive monkeys. When you find the monkeys, please do not feed them and touch them, please keep yourself away from them in a certain distance. They are fierce.
3. The sightseeing buses shuttle along the winding road in the mountain. Some visitors might suffer from carsickness.
